NEW FAVOURITES -SPECIAL FEATURE FROM RON O’NEAL

As per usual every week I hear new music or something that has been released but doesn’t get enough air time or there has been no media coverage.  This time of year I don’t know why “pop” music sounds so good than any other time but I have been hearing some great tracks in the pop world.

Lets get into Inspires new Favourites

Little Mix “Touch”

This tune is probably one of the best I have heard from the girls in a good a while. “Shout out to my ex is a good shout out lyrically but Touch has the harmonies, the bass, attitude and choreography. I really like the concept of the Glory Days album, I feel like its going to a girl power album. This tune really makes me dance, like no lie!!

Sean Paul ft Tory Lanez “Tek Weh Yuh Heart”

Yes, yes to this collaboration.  I have missed the good sound of dancehall from Sean Paul. Sean is really good at catering to his diverse fans and he has developed that relationship with the different audiences, which has allowed him to become more commercial but also dabble back into dancehall. Sean Paul continues to imprint his stamp on the music industry, representing his music and Jamaican music worldwide. Having been atop the Billboard Hot 100 charts for all of August and still retaining the top position on Billboard’s Radio Chart with his Cheap Thrills with Sia. The Grammy Award winning, Jamaican recording artist recently signed with Island Records has been making his presence felt, pushing the dancehall beat across the world with performances, appearances, and new releases.

I like that we hear the “Deport dem” riddim to remind us that Sean Paul is here. Tory Lanez just does his thing and BOOM the track becomes big in the clubs. I am looking forward to the new album, set to be released sometime in 2017.

Shakka “Dont Call Me”

Shakka is a badass artist. Shakka is that artist that will give us r&b with hints of indie, dub/house all in one tune and it will sound FIRE!! I have seen him live a few times and he just really puts heart and soul into the performances. I absolutely like this spin on “Dont Call Me”. The Island is his new EP, with features from Giggs, Mr Vegas and Wretch 32. I like that it reflects his Caribbean heritage, having recently starred in a documentary called “Homelands” with Terri Walker and Diztortion giving us some history on their roots.

FUSE ODG  “Jinja”

I like a hint of Afrobeats in my playlist and I remember the first time I heard this new one by Fuse the chorus got my attention and A Dot from BBC 1xtra was wondering what “Jinja my ninja” means. Everybody wants to know what is the concept behind this track.  After listening a few times the beat is growing on me a lot. “Jinja” was produced by Killabeatz whom seems to be killing it on these Afrobeats tunes; Jinja is a term from west African broken English, which means to give excessive energy to a person or situation, especially through dance.

This is  the first single from his new album entitled New Africa Nation set to come out next year. Fuse has been in the motherland of Ghana for a minute and has started a life changing challenge we are launching to help raise £250,000 to build a secondary school for kids who are in need in Ghana.  Find out more about the Jinja Challange here DONATE HERE TO VOTE: https://www.gofundme.com/jinjachallenge

NADIA ROSE x Red Rat  “Tight UP”

When I first heard Nadia I wasn’t too sure but yo this year she has come through nicely, after seeing her performance at London’s Notting Hill Carnival she has grown on me and actually has had a fantastic year, having signed to Relentless Records and won Best Video for SKWOD at the Mobos Awards. Nadia is doing bits for the female mc’s.  The new EP “Highly Flammable” has been receiving great reviews and I must say I love “Crank It” and now this joint right here “Tight Up”. You may recognise this classic dance hall track by Red Rat. The drop on this one is BAD!!
