It’s been a good week for new music and for a few tracks that been on the airwaves for a while. As I do love all elements of house music, there are a range of tracks I’m liking from Javeon to Duke Dumont and Second City. I also have a great mix from Marc Ryder in promotion for the Music Box event on the 26th April.
Whilst we are in the house, dance spirit DON’T forget about the 2nd installment for Music Box at Boxxed Warehouse Birmingham 26th April. For all house fans here is a special mix from one of my favourite house Dj/producer in Birmingham bringing the best shape-shifter events to this city. Soul and electronic singer Javeon from Bristol has been on the scene since 2011 where he signed to label PMR. Since then he has collaborated with Julio Bashmore and MNEK. In an interview he recently said he grew up listening to Craig David and now he is working with the same producers that has produced Craig’s music. Javeon has been causing a stir on the underground scene from club PA’s making a name for himself before he released his EP. The hype for ‘LoveSong’, ‘Give Up‘ and ‘Intoxicated‘ has gone from clubs to being featured on the playlist on BBC Radio 1/1xtra and Capital FM.

Duke Dumont ft Jax Jones
Adam Dumont, aka Duke Dumont, British DJ and music producer. He is best known for his single “Need U”, which featured A*M*E and peaked at the top of the UK Singles Chart in April 2013. December last year BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac premiered his official single I Got U ft Jax Jones and singer Kelli-Leigh. I Got U is the second single from his forthcoming album set to be released some time this year. The track samples My love is your love originally sang by Whitney Houston, which is apparently Duke’s favourite song by Whitney. I love the summer vibe in I Got U and I just think it’s the perfect song to prepare us for the festivals.

Don’t know too much about Second City other than the fact that they have been on the under ground circuit for a while. I like to think of Second City like Disclosure, Duke Dumont and MNEK clang because they all know each other and have similar music styles. I know they have been championed by Mike Delinquent, DJ Target from BBC 1Xtra and of course Annie Mac. Annie premiered I wanna Feel in 2013, so this track has been floating around for some time. The track takes the hook from Toni Braxton ‘ You’re making me higher’ transforming it from RnB to a two-step production.
I wanna feel is available to pre- order and is set to be released on the 25th May. In the mean time there are great remixes from Zed Bias, on sound cloud that sound awesome.
